April Parnell 
MS, BCBA, CO-Founder

April Parnell has been working in the field of behavior analysis for many years and she loves to help others who are in need. April’s background in family therapy combined with her education and years of experience in both clinical treatment and executive leadership in Behavior Analysis has shaped her appreciation of an individual child’s role within family, social and educational systems. Prior to starting Sunshine, April held experience in outpatient pediatric treatment, interdisciplinary treatment, educational intervention, and organizational leadership/management. Her expertise includes early intervention, parent education, social skills training, staff development, clinical management, and operations management. April strives to ensure functional and sustainable change for clients, build connectivity within treatment teams and increase access to services for children and families in need.

Helen Lundy 
Ed.D, BCBA

Helen Lundy earned her Master and Specialist of Education degrees from American College of Education, and completed the BCBA Verified Course Sequence at the University of West Florida. She has been a BCBA since August of 2019. She has been an educator for 15 years, and also works as an assistant principal in a school with a large population of students with autism. Her specialities include verbal behavior and differential reinforcement techniques. She enjoys seeing the quality of life of the clients she helps improve!

Gina Montoya 
MS, BCBA

Gina earned her Master of Science in Psychology with a specialization in Applied Behavior Analysis from Capella University. She has been in the field of Behavior Analysis for over 12 years and has extensive experience as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst collaborating with others, developing and implementing interventions based on data gathered, and keeping up to date on the latest in evidence-based interventions. Gina loves seeing how behavior analytic principles create observable change in the lives of the persons she works with. She especially loves seeing new skills be generalized across persons and settings and providing compassionate care to the families.

Karen Chanda
MS, BCBA

Karen is a BCBA at Sunshine Special Education Services, Inc. form Long Island, NY. Prior to Sunshine, Karen retired in August 2020, as the Director of Vocational Training and Placement Services, at a large non-profit on Long Island after 20 years of service.  She has held various training opportunities at public and non-public organizations, various public-school systems on Long Island, and continues to actively host workshops and training related to special education and behavioral interventions.

Karen received a BS in Health Administration from Eastern Michigan University, a MS from the University of Toledo. a MS in Special Education from Dowling College, and an Advanced Certificate in Applied Behavior Analysis from Florida Institute of Technology. When she is not working, Karen can be found spending time volunteering with Big Brothers and Sisters, Animal rescues, and with her husband and daughter at the beach.
